@OEWordhord Do you know what it would have meant then? I’m guessing there weren’t quite theatres in the way we know them now back then
@maninthewoods it appears in the context of ancient Roman amphitheaters in the Old English translation of a Latin history of the world (Orosius) - so not a theater found in early medieval England.
