Thread: Far too often, progressive or moderate Christians find it hard to take far-right Christianity seriously because they don't see it in their own congregations. That's a mistake because extremist Christianity actively seeks to tear down/cancel its intra-religious rivals.

Some fundamentalist Christians have the brains not to feel threatened by people who disagree in their denominations, but many/most seek to de-fund and fire preachers who say things that go against their dogma. I'll summarize this article next https://archive.ph/iQyca

The link is to an essay at RedState, the preferred blog of Republican Capitol Hill insiders. All the "R" staffers and many of the congressmembers read it and court the writers.

In the piece, the author promotes a Twitter account that's trying to LibsOfTikTokify religion.

This behavior is even more outrageous than LTT though because: 1) These are private, vonluntary religious services. 2) Supposedly the writer believes the targets are fellow Christian brothers and sisters.

In the post, Brandon Morse, the RedState blogger, emphatically claims that Christians who refuse to hate LGBT civil rights are under the influence of Satan.

Extremist Christians are deliberately seeking to destroy and tear down the faith of other Christians.

@mattsheffield They've been doing this for decades, at least since Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson csme to prominence.
@BruceMirken They have, and yet even now, many think of them as irrelevant.
