How do you decide what to read next? For me, it always feels like a big decision with no turning back!

If you are a person who allows yourself the grace of a DNF, after how many pages do you give up?

@miaq what about "DNF but it will haunt me for the rest of my life"
@bellagothh hahaha, what would you put in that category??

@miaq haunt me because 1/3 was enough to cause long lasting trauma: a court of thorns and roses #2 (it's just bad), the mists of avalon (worst instance of starting a book and then reading the authors wikipedia page)

they haunt me bc I regret not finishing them (and will probably re-read them at some point): anna karenina, the scarlet letter and the secret history

@bellagothh Ha, I was just asking my friend @jejord about Sarah Maas, if I should give her a try. Sounds like your vote would be no.

FWIW I LOVED The Secret History.

@jejord @miaq just watch withcindys reviews, they're better than the books https://youtu.be/iJTNn99UPuk (tbh it really depends on what you like; acotar was too hetereosexual and I'm not that fond of faeries. but if you like romance and faerie genitalia, go for it)
WTF is A Court of Thorns and Roses? 🌹

@bellagothh @jejord OK after having watched this video, I can tell this book is not for me. But excited to discover this YT channel, thanks!
@miaq I stopped reading TSH after dropping out of my Ancient Greek course bc it was too elitist and I got bullied by my 25 yo university classmates. It hit too close to home at the time but I really enjoyed it and keep wondering how it ended (I stopped halfway through).
@bellagothh I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't remember the ending but I know I enjoyed it.
