There are days when it seems there is no hope, that the world is falling into an abyss of injustice and despair. Do not let those days end your resolve. Rather let them strengthen your drive to overcome, to undo those wrongs, to stand on the righteous side of history.
@coachgowron all I said is that the cafeteria is out of hot sauce.
@coachgowron it's hard to keep high spirits for that Coach, when we're on the ground watching Praxis explode before our very eyes.
@coachgowron I need this needlepointed on a pillow.
@Sharonbw They didn't teach needlepoint in the Ty'Gokor Community College Coaching Program, otherwise I'd be happy to oblige.
@coachgowron Two nasty alley cats got away from me, and I was forced to eat Kate's cooking. Thanks, Coach, how do you know just what I need to hear?
@coachgowron What if you've reached the level of despair that rules out the possibility of their being any future human history to be on the righteous side of?
@coachgowron I am reading this in the voice of a Space Marine Chaplain (or an Imperial Guard Commissar) and it is truly metal.
@coachgowron there is an unofficial network of very informed and passionate people all over this country and all over the world. We can repel fascism, and we can do the things that we need to do to make this world just and sustainable.

That's all well and good, except that the planet is on its way to overheating, and tipping points are being approached and passed with no global will to address the problem. The "don't look up" mentality will destroy us. Our children will live in a hellscape and our grandchildren may not survive.

There is no way for individuals to effect mitigation of the crisis. It's up to the world's governments, which have utterly failed till now.

Depressed and despairing? That's a normal reaction. Add angry, too.
