My cousin is sheltering in place in Atlanta right now -active shooter. He works in midtown Atlanta and said they locked the building down.

Edit - he is fine. He sheltered in place for the duration.

Not sure what to say at this point. The words that have been said over and over again following a mass shooting have been worn out. There are no new words, at least none that I can think of.

@dancinyogi
One person deceased and 3 injured at a hospital, I believe.
@dancinyogi OMG. Really hope he and his colleagues are OK
@purplepadma All fine. He just had to lockdown. Scary, being that close though! Although, with the number of mass shootings in the US, someone in the family was bound to be exposed to one eventually.
@dancinyogi It’s horrendous that this is the case
@dancinyogi I’m praying for him and everyone else!
@dancinyogi Hope he's doing okay. Just another day in the new normal. :(
@joeo10 He's fine. The shelter in place was just lifted, but he plans to stay in his office for the rest of the afternoon.
@dancinyogi Oy, what a country! I'm glad he's okay.
@dancinyogi Strange that words aren’t fixing the issue
@crichton007 @dancinyogi Words would fix the issue, if they were placed in a legal document. Unfortunately, the people who can do that won't do that.

@dancinyogi

Republican billionaire donors are destabilizing American democracy using gun violence.

It is a * funded * stochastic campaign of terrorism.

Inaction in the face of mass shootings is a GOP policy decision towards a single end: the termination of American democracy.

@dancinyogi It's the guns! Enough already. So sorry this is happening to someone close to you. It's also happening to many people across the country. We really need common sense gun laws, and the majority of Americans support them.
