I'm working on a little promo for "Fingers & Fists," my audiobook about a waitress having spicy adventures with her hot boss, and I just found a sound effect for "greasing hands with olive oil." Absolute jackpot! 😂

*It remains to be seen if I can now build a promo around this for Pinterest that comes across as charming rather than obscene. 😅

Wish me luck! 💋

So far, everything I've tried is coming out sounding either filthy or just hysterically funny. 😅

I think the olive oil sounds *might* not work for Pinterest after all.

Here's what it sounds like though in case you're curious.

On a positive note, I now have Jevetta Steel singing "Calling You" in my head, no doubt because of the association with Bagdad Cafe.

Here's how the promo I was talking about earlier came out, in case you were wondering!

Given that I get censored on Pinterest if I even mention the full titles of some of the books I've narrated, I feel like this is an admirable attempt to get past the unwritten censorship standards. 😂

In contrast, here is the actual audiobook cover as supplied by the publisher for "Fingers and Fists: Sinking into the Wrist (Hedon Press Fisted Series). Which Pinterest freaks out about if I try to post on their site. 😂

However, if stories about extreme kink or fisting are your thing, it's a hot little audio story. 💋

@AdaraAstin Sensorship is the bain of my existance. though websites have the right to sensor content, I prefer sites and social media like Mastodon because people are free to say what they want.
@gocu54 I agree: we're very lucky to have Mastodon and the Fediverse.
@AdaraAstin The audio sounds exactly like the description, or perhaps like a massage therapist applying oil. I guess any other interpretations must be due to your voice over. 😉

@dweldredge I find it sounds a bit drier and more frictiony than I expected! I was thinking it might be a bit wet and, I don't know, gloppier?

Regardless, I'm going for cheery French jazz cafe music instead, this time, but I'm saving the Olive Oil Sounds for another occasion. 😂

@dweldredge PS It's nice to see your handsome face pop up around here! 😘
@AdaraAstin I've been spending most of my time over at Spoutible, which is proving to be much friendlier place than Twitter.
@dweldredge I nixed Spoutable as an option for me early in, I don't remember why now. I'm glad you're finding good alternatives that work for you. xo
@AdaraAstin I think the gloppiness would increase with the amount used...
@AdaraAstin Good luck! Sounds like fun 😊
@AimeeMaroux Thank you! It's not particularly productive so far but it's definitely keeping me entertained.
