Have We Learned Absolutely Nothing About Covering Trump?

CNN announced that it will give a live, unfiltered, primetime platform to Donald Trump next week in the form of a โ€œtown hallโ€ with New Hampshire voters.

@YouGiveMeFever itโ€™s all about ratings and money. Newsworthiness (or lack of) doesnโ€™t alway enter into it.
@annecavicchi Nothing like showcasing a guy who attempted to overthrow our government.
@YouGiveMeFever I wouldn't say CNN is the new Fox *yet*, but it's moving in that direction.
@YouGiveMeFever Ban CNN. I did after Afghanistan coverage
@YouGiveMeFever Ask your cable/satellite provider to remove both CNN & FNEWS from the basic package. You are paying for both even if you don't watch either. #defundfoxnews #defundcnn
@YouGiveMeFever Does anyone even watch CNN anymore? Even if they do put the pumpkin on the only people who watch are his devoted cult following.
@scottballer Unfortunately you can also add some Independents and Dems to that mix.
@YouGiveMeFever honestly doubtful. the amount of people that watch cable news is (if you take Tucker as the number 1) his highest audiance was 3 million.
2. Americans are divided by party in the sources they turn to for political news

To a large degree, the pattern of partisan polarization that emerges in attitudes about the credibility of news sources is also evident in the sources

@YouGiveMeFever 2019 polling the stakes have changed alot since 2019.
@YouGiveMeFever
I wouldn't have a problem with them interviewing him, IF and only IF, they grill him relentlessly on all his scandals, investigations, etc. and don't let his BS claims go unchallenged. If he gets pissed and walks out, they've probably done their job.
@dkxkee I agree, but chances are it will mostly be a puff piece. Trump generally picks his interviewers in advance.
