Has anyone built a version of Tetris where there’s only one piece but it’s the hat and you can adjust the direction of fall? https://gizmodo.com/new-13-sided-shape-the-hat-tiles-aperiodic-monotile-1850268575
Mathematicians Excited About New 13-Sided Shape Called 'the Hat'

Researchers proved the existence of a kind of shape that'd only been predicted to exist by theory.

Is it that people have stopped talking about The Hat, or is it that the full economic impact of the hat's discovery won't be felt until Q3 and Q4 2023 and beyond?
@benmschmidt just finding at a bit odd, that the #tetrakites and #polykites of Brendan Owen are not notably referenced anywhere http://www.recmath.com/PolyPages/PolyPages/PolyX/index.htm?Polykites.htm
The Poly Pages

@benmschmidt I don’t know if any human looked at that shape before the authors of the paper, but it must have been in this set of 873 possibilities for 8 tetrakites 2 times. Testing for the aperiodic tiling property is a different thing though.
#TheHat

@benmschmidt or here:
Tetrakites 3 and 9 can assemble the octokite hat.
