Elyse Eidman-Aadahl@Wolven Thank you. You put language to my exact feeling. It's amazing to me how quickly and fully I went from caring to not caring, and I'm sure it's true for others. There's a general feeling of was-ness over it all.

Google+ (or Clubhouse for those who were there, which I wasn't) are examples of how limited-invite social media rollouts without up-front attention to moderation play out: it's great, until it isn't. Mastodon et. al.'s federated approach is at least something different, failing in new and interesting ways.
@Wolven It's such an effort to relocate to a new social media platform, establish a new group of follows and followers and the try to find all your friends from the new site.
Not to mention you lose all your old posts and bookmarks. Unless Bluesky ends up being some kind of Nazi free paradise, and it sure doesn't look like it will be, I'm sticking around here, on Mastodon on a server based in Germany where they have actual anti Nazi laws.
