A TX man w/AR-15 killed 5 people "execution style." Two female victims were killed lying on top of 2 surviving kids & 3 surviving kids were covered in blood. All b/c they asked him to stop shooting while their baby slept.

This GOP "well regulated militia," has this month alone killed people for:
•Sitting in the wrong car
•Knocking on wrong door
•Turning into wrong driveway
•Attending the wrong birthday party
•Basketball rolls into the wrong lawn
•Asking the wrong neighbor to let your baby sleep

@QasimRashid This country was built on violence, terror, and trauma. It is in the DNA of America. That does not mean we should cease fighting for a less violent society. Build community, network, educate, and continue to fight violence and terror with daily kindness. The majority of American’s are non-violent.✌🏼
@HumanityExists @QasimRashid any educated person knows that less guns means less violence. The brain of certain republicans isn’t able to cope with facts… prayers and thoughts are just about as much as they can understand.

@nathanwierink @HumanityExists @QasimRashid

Is that a fact? Then why is the violent crime rate in both Australia and New Zealand higher than the United States? When you account for VIOLENCE as opposed to only homicide the numbers might surprise you.

Violent Crime Rates by Country 2024

@mstrmustache @nathanwierink @HumanityExists @QasimRashid Did you read down as far as 'The problem with global violent crime statistics'? I didn't think so. I am absolutely certain the USA one is incomplete, because there is no way there were no sexual assaults in the USA.

@ariaflame @nathanwierink @HumanityExists @QasimRashid

I in fact did. If you have a better source of information please feel free to produce it. Based on my research the US does have a higher homicide rate than non gun countries but their violent crime rate (assault etc) is almost always higher. As if people stuck in capitalist hellscapes are consistently violent, just more lethal with guns.
Based on the improbability of any meaningful change to American gun laws it is an individual choice whether to be the Sancho to the deluded (or willfully deceptive) Quixote or to concentrate time effort and money on helping marginalized communities, demilitarizing the police, or maybe even directing social programs which are proven to reduce inequality AND violence.

But you feel free to scream at clouds, I'm sure they will listen and change.

@mstrmustache @ariaflame @HumanityExists @QasimRashid although i think you are very biased towards the given numbers indeed screaming to the clouds isn’t going to help. Maybe bringing the same ‘problems’ that schoolkids face when confronted with an AR to the different NRA meetings will help changing the greed based republican opinion. Then let them say ‘thoughts and prayers’.

@nathanwierink @ariaflame @HumanityExists @QasimRashid

You seem to be under the mistaken delusion that a legislative answer exists. I am sorry but bothe the NRA and the Dems have lied you into a false reality.
The courts, including the Supreme Court since Heller (and now including the even more broad Bruen decision) have consistently held that the Second Amendment affirms the right of individuals to own firearms. In fact there are NO "illegal" man portable firearms in the US. A fully automatic suppressed short barrelled rifle is just behind a paywall.
Therefore the only answer is to "Change the Constitution" you say? Sure, why not. It only requires 2/3 of BOTH houses of Congress AND the states to ratify it. I'm sure that will happen in this world of 1-2 vote margins in Congress.

I would never say that laws restricting firearms that were consistently enforced and equitably written would be a bad thing....it just literally never has in the US and cannot be upheld even if it were. "Gun control" is the grift that just keeps on giving for both sides.

@mstrmustache @ariaflame @HumanityExists @QasimRashid yes you should change the constitution or at least let it do what is was ment for. That’s not the right to bear arms to the extent that now is legalized. But hey if you want you kids to be obliterate and defend yourself by saying ‘it’s the law’ go ahead. But don’t come whining when it is your kid dead in the streets. Then just go and say that you’ve done ‘all you can’.

@nathanwierink @ariaflame @HumanityExists @QasimRashid

Please explain, in detail, how one would change said constitution in the current political environment. I have been studying this for years and have reached the conclusion that no matter how desirable it might be (a debateable point since Jim Jordan would be in charge of the committee ) it literally CANNOT be done but I am far from perfect so I am happy to be proven wrong.

How? In detail taking into account real voters and representatives please.

If not are you equally willing to accept the proposition that you have been fooled into a grift that benefits the Dems and the GOP by allowing them to fundraise while KNOWING that there is nothing going to change?
