#FacePalm. Despite their good intentions, Post will fail as long as its revenue model is based on MicroPayments. As Clay Shirky famously put it...

> Users hate them

... and that's not going to change.

The other problem with Post.news is that it's a solution in search of a problem. News publishers went to FB and Titter in search of eyeballs to look at their articles because those platforms had already domesticated millions of eyeballs. Post is relying on the news as bait with which to build a platform. Why would publishers help a competing media company build yet another centralized platform, when they can publish directly into the fediverse from their own websites?
@strypey Which makes EM’s recent announcement about doing the same thing on Twitter is an interesting/questionable one.

Any good critical articles on this you could link me to?

Thanks. This is hilarious. Web publishing funded by micropayments are a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that tech businesses have tried and failed to reach since the 90s. Either Melon Husk hasn't done his due diligence before launching into this, or he has the hubris to think he will succeed where all others have failed.
@strypey WHOA WHOA WHOA. Whoa there. Are you SUGGESTING that Melon Husk (I'm stealing this btw) is not looking before he leaps?? HE IS THE GENIUS BUSINESS BOY WHO IS VERY GOOD AT THE BUSINESS THO SO HOW CAN THIS *BE*?
*smirk*

It's public domain ;) Besides I can't take the credit, I spoonerized to Melon Usk but i didn't even think about adding the H until I saw someone else do it 🤣
