@GottaLaff So much sleaze in the judiciary that my sense of outrage is getting numbed.

This guy was fine ruling on cases for a party he supported with $36k and by being on a related board?? Sadly, he's following the SCOTUS example.

If the rules leave any doubt this should not be okay, and judges need stronger disclosure requirements with teeth, this case proves it.

Edit- actually $50K of support. The $36K as only one example.

@GottaLaff
Each day brings more evidence that corruption in our federal courts is systemic, thus proving there are a helluva lot of men above the law!
@GottaLaff Recusal, what a concept. Supposedly there was even a time when it happened before their corruption was exposed in the press.
@callisto Sigh. It’s all too often ignored now.
@GottaLaff
It's surprising how often good journalism will awaken a sleeping conscience. (Supreme Court a notable exception.)
@Leisureguy …when good journalism thrives…

@GottaLaff

I am sooo glad the FBI is alert to these obviously corrupt breaches of conduct and stopping them...

Wait, what's that? it wasn't the FBI (who gets billions per year and claims public corruption is their top focus) who brought this to light?

It was a non profit press group? Doing the FBI's job?

Oh well, no need for the FBI to look into it now, .I'm sure that bad man won't do anything like that ever again!

@GottaLaff
If any organization needs an ethics standard and oversight, it's the courts.
@GottaLaff
One more example of how crucial a free press is to democracy.
@avertexofmyown Can't be said enough, thank you
@GottaLaff Judges are going all out in favor of religion, but not pro people.

@GottaLaff

After all this time of obvious uneven justice to suddenly back down, I think investigative reporters are on the right track.

Dig deeper. There’s probably more.

@GottaLaff Let me know if they find a judge that’s not crooked.
@GottaLaff always release bad news on Fridays bc Saturdays are slow news days
@GottaLaff I believe those victims have the right to insist they be heard by a different judge.
@GottaLaff, well, of course. Religion plus conservatism knows no ethical bounds.
@GottaLaff Nothing Honorable about all the Corrupt Judges Everywhere
@GottaLaff
He should go to jail. I hope the abuse victims sue him.

@GottaLaff "... a week *after* ..."

Words fail me. Or maybe he was just very busy. Yes, I'm sure that's it ...

@GottaLaff
Let’s guess.
He’s a Republican.
