It was a beautiful day so we visited the Jardin des Plantes and it's Ménagerie, a zoo almost as old as the USA!
Tuesday was Lincoln's birthday, and his requests were to see the Eiffel Tower and eat Macaroons. We were able to do both!
Another beautiful day, so we walked to the Louvre, then through the Tuileries. Then took the Métro to Montmartre for dinner near Sacre Coeur.
Today it rained, but we still had a good day visiting the Natural History Museum and their room full of skeletons™️! Doing a little souvenir shopping, Linc really wanted a beret, which he's been proudly wearing around all day. He looks great in it, if I may say so!
I took a year off during college and moved to a small city in France to teach English. Today, after 16 years, I took my family there! We've been here for 5 hours, and the storms rolled in part way through a bottle of wine and charcuterie board at the port, but it's really wonderful to come back and share this with my family!
The port at Thonon-les-Bains has a little lending library with some FreeBSD classics, if you're interested.
Before this trip I reached out to an old friend from my time here, who I haven't spoken to in over 15 years, and we were able to meet for dinner and catch up. It was really amazing to reconnect after so long!
To finish our trip, we spent yesterday and today in Geneva, Switzerland. We had a great time climbing the steep, narrow circular stairs to the bell towers of Saint Pierre Cathedral, from which we had a beautiful view of the city and the lake today!
To really finish out the trip, I had fun with the normal Android developer past-time of messing with the in flight entertainment systems
