OMG!! I can't believe this, but I love it! Five women Senators in South Carolina
( 3 Republicans and 2 Democrats) defeated a near-total ban on abortion. In Nebraska, it was an 80-year-old Republican State Senator Merv Riepe who abstained from voting to advance the near-total ban. Republicans with SENSE saved two states today from abortion bans. Yeh, I don't type that many times!

The South Carolina bill was stopped by five women, three Republicans and two Democrats. The Nebraska bill went down due to an 80-year-old male Republican.

@MicheleV_AK seems important to emphasize: a HANDFUL of Republicans with sense and ALL the state Democrats saved abortion rights in these states. We can credit the republicans but it's their party that has put rights at risk.

@pinsk I get that, but this was huge for these particular states for Republicans NOT to stay in line with the party.
