However, many people follow brands or influencers, and come to social media because they want to meet their favorite brand or influencer there. And Mastodon not providing any possibility to advertise keeps most of those brands/influencers away.

Sure, I'm with you on that. I simply iterated why Mastodon struggles to leave the niche among social media platforms.
