@pezhore Docker/Containers I don't see why I would need VMs from what I've explained so far managing containers with (currently) docker-compose is really convenient and does work reliable. For ingress I use Treafik which routes subdomains (more or less virtual host's)
In the future I will probably evaluate if kubernet is feasible because I want to do ci/cd with the whole cluster

We are talking about software-defined infrastructure home labs that create platforms. The argument for bare metal is off-topic, and the questionnaire doesn't list only VM-enabled products.
What do you think the container platform services we use in the public cloud are made of?
