@capripot I think that Amanda is an excellent person with great goals that I am aligned with, and I want us to focus on goals such as community building, jobs programs, outreach, docs, experience, and other similar topics.

I also believe it is unfortunate that DHH burns their energy on culture wars nonsense instead of what actually helps the community. If anything it undermines any and all community work, and I have told him this directly.

@capripot the question will be if the community is more important than any individual ego. The moment that can be proven I will fully support the Rails Foundation, but until that time I remain wary of intentions.

We are more than one person, and we can do so much more if we move beyond it.

@capripot now to DHH's credit I agree that community investment, especially erosion of local events, has been a bad thing and has not had enough attention.

If we can focus on those items there's a lot of good we can do.
