Feeling that my posts on dev.to and substack have abysmal reach. Many years ago an article on dev.to would fetch some engagement, hearts, bookmarks, comments, im not really getting much anymore. Same with substack favorites... Anyone else get the feeling that they're just shouting into the void?? The main perks of using these platforms over hosting your own is to help with reach, what's the point of these platforms?
@thomasreggi I'm not a big presence by any means on the web, but I've noticed I have even less engagement than before as well. My gut feeling is the algorithms have changed to favor more divisive content. To get ahead we need more titles like "React Killer", "Node Killer", "SQL is dead", etc. Reasonable takes are so boring! 😆
@jcs224 yeah thats exactly what I was thinking as well
