Apple’s Weather chaos is restarting the weather app market

When Apple bought the beloved app Dark Sky, some app developers went looking for a new way to make the forecast. When WeatherKit when down, they found a way to do better.

@jonasdowney @helloweather Good chat. For me the best forecast comes from multiple apps. I spent a lot of time researching after my favorite app changed for the worse and did some shady monetary shifts. I settled on Hello Weather for forecasts and Weather Mate for radar. I combine the data from each in my head based on experience to get the full forecast picture. I think Weather Mate is the gold standard for a radar app. Others should take inspiration from them.
