Richard Garriot, noted #Ultima game developer and #ISS space tourist, owns the #Lunokhod 2 lunar rover and #Luna / #Lunik 21 lunar lander, which are on the #Moon.
He bought them from the financially strapped Soviet Union in 1993 for $68,500 at auction.
The rover was remotely driven for over 23 miles on the moon before running into the side of a crater.
This ownership does provide some legal precedent for spacebro Elmo claiming stuff on the Moon once #SpaceX rockets and employees land there.
