@DanielMicay @sylentpunk I dunno whether I should comment on this or not. Probably not, but anyway - this is getting too painful to not comment on it. I’m replying here in hope that the aggressors do get it too. Yeah, I’m mostly directing this reply at the aggressor(s?).
A long while ago I joined both sides a while ago in order to evaluate properly which project fits more my needs and I believe that I managed to maintain a neutral standing. There’s no reason that any side would have a grudge against me in this. When things started to heat up, I hadn’t much involvement yet and I backed out and started only watching.
I cannot prove nor deny any side’s claims and that’s not my job neither and I’m not trying to do that. I do not have any hard facts.
But I have witnessed one thing for sure: Things are ugly. And that’s true from any side’s perspective, I guess.
Regardless of any circumstances, it is not OK where this is getting personal and even threatening. And with recent (now known in public) happenings, it is undeniable clear that a red line has been crossed.
Hate and threats are methods of people that are not able to maintain a professional line of arguments. It is not getting anyone anywhere productive. It’s just destructing honourable work and making things bad for everyone.
I want everyone to stop harming people’s health or lives - online as well as offline. That’s not acceptable.
PS: I’m still not excluding the possibility of someone covertly trying to break all projects because of interests in easy surveillance possibilities. All people of both projects that I have encountered so far are trying to behave very professionally (as for the little I have publicly seen). Nobody is doing their favourite project anything good if they try to destroy other projects with overlapping goals. Whoever is doing this is a disgrace and should delete themselves.
Sorry, I sort of had to vent this. It really hurts seeing what’s happening and being unable to help (without getting a target by myself).
@satmd Some unhinged physcopath going after another project because Daniel points out flaws.
Isn't that supposed to be the idea of FOSS, helping each other, instead of arguing because someones feelings get hurt, work together, GOS can be freely used by anyone.
I'm sure everyone (including Daniel) has taken critisim about their work, and just roll with it.
Truely worrying times in this niche part of the Android community.
@oci3o I’m not sure it was understood what I’m saying.
I’m saying that all involved projects usually show great professionalism and this does not match with the things that are happening beneath the surface.
I’m not blaming anyone, especially not Daniel if that’s what you seem to understand from my post.
There is someone (or more people) doing active sabotage against both projects. And those - I agree on the term - psychopaths are very destructive. And I actually do not count that psychopath(s) with the people supporting either projects. If they wanted to help “their” project, they’re actually doing the opposite.
