Everyone's talking about the Magic: The Gathering Pinkertons debacle in a tone of 'oh my god I can't believe they'd respond to a thing like this with the honest-to-god Pinkertons' and I see why
but I'm here like, 'oh yeah, corpos gonna corpo--wait THE PINKERTONS *STILL EXIST*?'
One can have any number of opinions about the guy making the video, or who else is at fault for shipping it--my thing is, once corporation money is spent on a company whose only recourse is threatening someone, & then they threaten someone, that's poor form any way you slice it.
By all accounts it's been resolved amicably at this point, and I'm glad. This is still a brand I care very deeply about, after all. But that was a wild reaction, and at the very least I hope that overreactions like that don't recur in the future for this and other brands.

@therisingtithes hahaha I only discovered they still existed because they changed their logo for Pride month ;)

@therisingtithes Every couple of years we all get our noses rubbed in the continuing existence of the fucking Pinkertons.
@therisingtithes they tried to sue Rockstar games over being represented as antagonists in Red Dead Redemption 2 some years ago, which is how *I* found out that absolute nightmare of an agency still exists.
