@troglodyt @edri Let me dig a bit further.

Currently the IT Security Requirements at European institutions follow the "industry standards". To continue with my example: deprecate support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1, and for critical data also choose a strong set of ciphers.

My point is that if they undermine these industry standards, they are shooting themselves in the feet. Because IT Security requirements at the institutions will not be reduced, they will only increase.

See #postfactual #cyberfacism like #ITAR / #USML & #WassejaarArrangement, which do diddly piss and are pointless at best if not even more harmful than unenforceable bs gun legislation in the post-#Luty & post-#FGC9 era.
