@caseynewton Literally anyone with a functioning brain could see how this would go down.

One only needs to ask the question of "why did Twitter do verifications and checkmarks in the first place" and you'd realize EXACTLY what would happen.

The second question is "Why would your product pay you to be sold to advertisers"

@EmilyGB @caseynewton that last sentence, I haven't seen hammered home enough--the users are, were, and (as long as you need advertisers) will always be the product. Launchpad Craterbrain, and evidently his birdsite sycophants, still don't seem to get that.
