@suswatibasu None of these answers cover my opinion, so I won't vote.
I won't knowingly read an AI-written non-fiction book because these "AIs" (large language models do not constitute true intelligence) make things up at a high rate.
I won't knowingly read an AI-written fiction book because I don't believe an LLM has an imagination to transform characters and scenarios from rote into something that feels absorbing.
@suswatibasu No, although it's not that it's cheating. For non fiction, it's unlikely to be completely factual, and for fiction, there's enough human-written drivel out there that I'm not about to waste my time with AI-written drivel.
You should check the assumptions in your poll.
@suswatibasu as the only person who said yes, let me explain
If I read a book, and I liked it, and you said it was written by an LLM, that wouldn’t lessen the book for me.
But, that’s never going to happen? LLMs are really boring writers?
the fact that the book was written by an LLM doesn’t particularly matter to me. I care if the book is good.
Perhaps I took the question too abstractly. “Would you read a good book written by an ethically created AI?” Sure. I’ll enjoy it in my flying car.
