Judith Love Cohen was the engineer who made Apollo's Abort Guidance System, which was crucial to saving the ill-fated Apollo 13. She finished it while in labor, then (the same day) delivered her younger son -- the actor Jack Black.

This is one of those utterly remarkable #space stories that I stumble over once in a while and it blows my mind afresh every single time.

@marsroverdriver JB is one hell of a guy as well. Never hear anything but great stuff about him.
@marsroverdriver @LGsMom Someone should edit the Wikipedia entry for Jack Black to read "was born in Santa Monica, California,[4] on August 28, 1969,[5] to Judith Love Cohen, during a short break she took in troubleshooting problems with schematics."

This is a near verbatim copy of a meme I fact-checked a few years ago. It omits the part about taking her NASA work to the hospital when she went into labor. Every separate statement is true! Which was remarkable enough for me, though the combination seems to paint a false picture for some: She was NOT helping to save Apollo 13 from the hospital while in labor with Jack Black. Her AGS work was completed years earlier, of course. But AGS *was* used in recovering 13. https://deepspace.social/@marsroverdriver/110249481314887069
