@ruhlman just yesterday I sat on my front porch and showed my son, aged 10, my copy of Ratio. It looks ordinary, a simple paperback edition.

But it was one of the last books my late father read, a copy given to him by my sister who thought he would enjoy it. He was a food scientist with a many decades long career helping almost literally every food company around the world design and build food processes. He was also an excellent cook.
