Most of the time we just park up #TheVan in streets and byways - nobody notices or cares. But occasionally we stop in City Campsites. They’re normally just practical but, of course, #Verona has a beautiful one. This is the view we have from our campsite here. Incredible place. Back on the road tomorrow.

#RoadTrip

@CatherineRussell2 do you plan the campsites ahead or just see them along the route? Asking because we are thinking of heading trying EU trip. Do you have to be good planners or just see what presents along the route?
@KirstenD I love research so always plan a route, though happy to part from it, the secret to freedom is never never book anything in advance. Campsites are normally 2apenny.
@CatherineRussell2 That's good to know. Researching route is fun but happy to leave campsites to chance and hopefully brave enough to just park in a street or coast. It looks so exciting and screens adventure and freedom. Thanks for sharing.

@KirstenD Top tips.

1. Don’t drive a white box or anything with a poptop.

2. Don’t attempt to park up for the night in beauty spots.

3. Do find dead ends, rivers, grave yards, canals, churches, walls with no front doors, factories can be handy.

4. Don’t park in front of someone’s front door or where you might be a nuisance.

5. Cities and towns are easier to park up for the night in than anywhere in the countryside.

6. But everything depends on number 1. You need to be invisible.

@CatherineRussell2

'Graveyards' 🫣😬

Thanks for those. We've heard lots of negatives for pop toos, especially if you are trying to just park up for the night. It makes sense to pick a city, not standing out as much and closer to a coffee shop!
It's all very exciting.

@CatherineRussell2 @KirstenD my parents could never book a campsite when I was a kid because of my clean toilet obsession!! We’d pull up somewhere, I’d go in to check the toilets and they’d see from my face as I came back whether we were staying or not!!! 🫣 My brother recently told me that while I was gone they’d all try and guess my reasons for not being happy with what I’d seen!!! 😳😂😂😂
@CatherineRussell2 Gorgeous! I can hardly believe it’s real. I’m off to buy some garden mulch. Have a cozy evening!
@CatherineRussell2 Gorgeous and yes it does look incredible and an interesting place also
Am I jealous............ Yes I am 🥺
@CatherineRussell2 Not in the slightest bit jealous as I look out of my window at the rain pouring down 🥴
@CatherineRussell2 stunning view. Is it heading towards Slovenia tomorrow?
Lets hope there are no disasters, take care.
@CatherineRussell2 I’m sure I could put up with it for a couple of days 😃. Enjoy the rest of the evening.
@CatherineRussell2 Wonderful view & a chance to fill up on water etc? Have a lovely evening - are you cooking or eating out? Sunday isn't always the easiest for restaurants. Safe journey tomorrow after a peaceful night.
@CatherineRussell2 well that’s not too shabby at all is it?💜

@CatherineRussell2

Your phone takes the most wonderful photos. Or, maybe, the person pressing the button!😁 I bought a new iPhone a couple of months back, don’t get the same results as you, however.
