you should have to apply for a license to publish a children's book in rhyme
if a kids book is written well in rhyme it's like magic - Shel Silverstein's "Giraffe and a Half" is great and the EXPERIENCE of reading it is amazing, you feel like you're flying. If a kids book is written poorly in rhyme and you're reading it out loud it feels like your teeth are coming out
ahhh thinking about reading stuff out loud and for the last few years I've wanted to try to hold a Christmas ghost story reading around the holiday and my dream is passing out copies of The Raven and we all read them together
I... kind of want to try audiobook narration, I've been really enjoying reading longer books with the kids. I might try to record some samples and if any writers on here think they're reasonable I could try to record some stuff for them for free!
@mark there’s wire mother right here! wakka wakka (joking and also not joking i sometimes write kid appropriate material for WM that isn’t bleak)
@cartoonmouse
Absolutely send me stuff! I'm sorry I never actually got you much written stuff to record!
@mark <3 you friend. and if you don’t want it to be a part of WM and just for your family that’s just fine. just remind me of your e-mail.
@mark Have you considered Librivox?
@communalsauce
I didn't even know this existed, this is so cool!! Thanks!
@mark my dad got into a few years ago and i'm SO proud of him. he really enjoys it and it's genuinely creative work.
