Hitting Fox in the pocketbook doesn't work if they earn more from their lies thru increased cable demand fees than they pay out to the companies they've smeared. The market isn't going to self-correct here. We need to find a way to actually stop the lies.

@StevenBeschloss There will never be enough for Rupert. He is a mean, greedy, old, white guy who discovered how to grift from the hateful, oppressive, lying ‘journalism’ he provides. He doesn’t care how much he has to pay because he reaps much more in rewards. His son is the same way so i don’t expect it to change when Rupert goes to hell.

I expect the settlement will have a cooling effect on #Murdoch and his tribe of blowhards. While #Fox can certainly this settlement, a big fat precedent has been set and all #news organizations are likely calculating their increased legal exposure. Those devoted to bloviated opinion and popularizing falsehoods rather than the hard business of actual reporting will likely have to reconsider their practices.
