Short version: Republicans don’t want to concede the 2024 elections already now.

The ultimate solution is to elect more Democrats and get abortion access onto ballots around the country. It’s not over.

Let’s be clear though - access to medication abortion should never have been threatened in the first place.

The justices hand down the first decision in the mifepristone litigation saga that is not completely unhinged.

Could have been the headline.

@TonyStark I would guess that if Americans were to vote directly on the issue of access to abortion right now, the overwhelming majority would be in support. Translate that into actions to get and keep Republicans out of office. Elect Democrats. Nice they think I have rights “for now” to medication abortion but that’s not enough.
@TonyStark This whole "death to women" cult has me furious. Mifespristone is a necessary medication for women's health.
An older woman shared that she needed this drug for treatment recently and that her physician had to jump through hoops to get it for her.
@ldmay65 @TonyStark
Blimey! What's this about?
I have enough of a social conscience trying to keep all of us alive! Oh, my....
@TonyStark I feel 100% confident that if American democracy survives this period, our judicial system of the era will be seen as not just laughably horrid but criminally negligent.

@statmonkey I miss the days where there was at least an illusion of impartiality on the SCOTUS. It’s just a tool of the right now. Only the unlikely scenario of Roberts growing a conscience would have an impact in the near term.

If they felt it should stay in the states, this should have been an easy decision. They kicked the can down the road and the 2 worst on there still dissented.

@TonyStark @statmonkey The Roberts court has been most consistent that it doesn't like nationwide temporary injunctions. This District Judge in Texas thought he'd be clever and not call his nationwide temporary injunction an "injunction". I don’t think the majority appreciated the attempt to circumvent their very clear instructions.
@TonyStark Precisely the reason why WI GOP don’t want to see a statewide vote on this, despite the fact no woman had a voice in enacting the 1849 Wisconsin law.
@RoreyRN @TonyStark Too right…..but then present day Republicans seem to be focused on minimizing the existence of women ….
