@redrummy I mean, it’s a real interaction with an attempted scammer (f you’re asking if I was really shot, I fortunately was not). I do this from time to time. As Mastodon isn’t really a DM-friendly platform, I rely on text messaging more for these little romps. Over on that other site (now crashing and burning like a Starship), I got probably 3 or 4 of these per week. We had fun, the shitheads and me.

@redrummy I’ve had loads of fun. I told one that I’d been shot by a monkey that was part of a research project. My co-worker had beef with the monkey because it kept flinging poo at him, so he brought a gun to scare it. But the monkey charged him and he dropped the gun, which the monkey picked up and threw. The gun hit a rock, discharged, and the bullet struck my leg. It was ridiculous.

@taoish They pretend to have the wrong number, then send a photo of an attractive woman (usually Asian) and attempt to lure a sucker into a honey pot scheme.
