My Twitter account has lost its blue tick after 5 years and 9 months. Being a verified user was useful from time to time but Elon rendered it useless by turning it into a pay-for-plaything. It won't be missed now. I will remain on the birdsite as long as I have friends to talk to there. I'd prefer if they joined me here though...

@WDCV_Frauen I have two accounts on Twitter (same as on Mastodon) and the cricket people are generally a nicer community than the more general twitterati, but 11000 followers is a lot to walk away from. Mastodon needs more traction in India, for one place. Twitter is gradually becoming unworkable as Elon reshapes it in his own image and it will eventually become impossible to stay
