The Japan Rail Pass will be available on routes that were previously inaccessible, and the price will be substantially increased by up to 77%. 🙄 The revised service is for the “Nozomi” bullet train on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines and the “Mizuho” bullet train on the Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen lines, which are currently not available with the Japan Rail Pass. 🤭 After the revision, passengers will be able to board only the “Nozomi” and “Mizuho” bullet trains by purchasing a special ticket prior to boarding, in addition to the Japan Rail Pass. Prices and other details will be announced at a later date. 🥺 The price of the 7-day pass for standard cars used to be 29,650 yen at JR-appointed sales outlets and 33,610 yen at the dedicated website, but after the revision, the price will be unified to 50,000 yen, a maximum increase of approximately 69%.
