Something like this just happened to my friend, and I’m so mad.
Young men driving with no license plate and shooting women and people biking
(with paintballs or pellets, thank fuck, though I’ve heard of guns and darts - and still, they could shoot an eye out with any of those)
Anyhow, I’m steamed. Safe Streets need to actually be safe.
And I’ll add that this is why we need to build systems that just work safely: ways for people to get where they need, and safe options for youth to get what they need to get out.
I’m not sure what else to do about this, and I say that as someone with multiple bike camera setups. Because we need to avoid the issue in the first place, and I don’t think a camera will do much at night, or without a license plate…
But let’s talk Smart Urban Design, Livable Cities, and yeah, #BikeCamera too!
