👋 Hello, mountains.social. I fell in love with both hammock camping and winter camping last year (personal record low of 7F/-14C) and have taken up backpacking as my preferred way to enjoy the outdoors.

I prefer to post images on @[email protected], but here’s a fall 2020 photo.

@quigs @[email protected] how are you staying warm hammock camping?
hammock lined?
@jnavarra @quigs @[email protected] That was my first thought - are this two separate things you took up, or are you camping with the hammock in the winter?
I am truly impressed.

@rcr @jnavarra I started hammock camping in the spring and bought some winter hammock gear on sale over the summer because I slept so well and wanted to continue camping when it got cold. No mosquitoes in the winter! 😉

@quigs @jnavarra Well, that looks cosy. But I am still impressed. I dislike mosquitos as well, but still prefer the warmer seasons.

@quigs @[email protected] Welcome! I also backpack and plan doing some this summer in #Wisconsin on the #IceAgeTrail
