I don’t share my photos often, so as a break from levity and politics, please enjoy my favorite image shot from our back deck across the lake at sunset.
@unclepj
Very pretty, thank you
@jeanettepizzurro Thank you and you’re welcome. Hope it brought a little peace into your day, however small.
@unclepj
To get a shot like that from my backyard, I'd need a 1000 ft tower and a telephoto from hell.
@stargazersmith I gave up much to be able to live here and I have no regrets. Sometimes I feel like I’m in the movie On Golden Pond… loons and all. There are even a few of the bird kind!

@unclepj
Hard to put a price on that.

I'm at the reflection age, and as I look back I can see a few times that without some ever present constraints, I'd have chosen a different path that offered more life value, but less financial security.

I slid around within those constraints to achieve some of that, but the constraints took a toll. The constraints had to do with health issues of some family members that couldn't be compromised.

@stargazersmith Aye, completely understandable. You do what you can, right?

The wife and I make the absolute best environment wherever we’ve landed. Even if we were in a rental that had a tiny backyard. That backyard was our wilderness escape.

We’ve been fortunate not to have any major health issues, other than the standard aching joints, etc. We still get stuff done, it just takes longer. Besides, the act of improving your environment is itself soothing for the soul.

@unclepj
Getting stuff done, but slower is the truth.

I tell my wife that I still feel like I did when I was 20 -- but for only about 10 minutes a day.

@stargazersmith My brain still thinks I’m 20, but it’s delusional. It’s so easy to overwork ourselves… but I try to stay in some semblance of shape. Aging is a real pain.
