I don't normally post new cars, more so if they are American but this Buick caught my attention. Mostly because it has 1.2L turbo engine with 136 HP and 162 pound-feet of torque.

Of course. the Japanese have been making small displacement cars for decades and there are some very interesting things in Europe but something for the US from a US company is interesting.

@md Wonder how much bigger it is than a Honda Fit? Subcompacts in general are being phased out here (US); Wonder if this is a GM attempt to claw some market share?

@md Huh. Larger, but a 3 cyl. And 3163 lbs. Hard to imagine much zip off the line, but these things aren't really made for that anyway I guess

@4d3fect
Not zippy at all but a start.

Ford has been tweaking the EcoBoost for nearly a decade now and has some interesting engines even if not available in the states yet.

Only interested because I remember how bad the American cars were in my youth (1970-1980).

Ford Released a 167-HP 1.0-Liter Three-Cylinder and No One's Talking About It

This EcoBoost engine, exclusive to the not-sold-in-America Puma ST Powershift, is as power dense as BMW M3 Competition's straight-six.

@md likewise, I'm sure! I remember anemic Datsuns and such. Now I have a 2015 6spd fit. It's a slow car that feels fast. Lol. Seems like American car cos are giving up on the segment and it's really disappointing.

@4d3fect
Driving a slow car fast is much more fun than driving a fast car slow (for me). Much cheaper and easier to get more smiles per mile.

I've owned an E30 M3 with upgraded suspension and an early 90's Civic hatch with brake and suspension upgrades. Both cars were fun but the Civic kept me smiling.
