Fun fact: during early development the gonads of the human fetus remain undifferentiated; that is, all fetal genitalia are the same and are phenotypically female.

- So, if biological sex can't be changed,
- And if life starts at conception,
- Then all men are trans.

Sorry, Republican men. You made the rules.

@LadyDragonfly: By the same token, let's induce headaches in people who try to deliberately make change of gender in official documents impossible by telling them about the possibility of a person transitioning before their state even first sees any document about their gender. Perhaps even ask them about how such a person could regret and detransition in their gender-straightjacketed state.

@riley @LadyDragonfly Thinking off to one side here, I wonder why any gender marker is necessary for state documents.

Hardly their business.

@gilesforyou: They used to not appear in most documents, in fact. A major push for normalising gender in state documents was the introduction of birth certificates, and I'm not making this up, for racist purposes of anti-trans kind: for locking people into the race they got assigned at birth.

@LadyDragonfly

@riley @LadyDragonfly I can believe it. All the more reason to toss the practice.

I know plenty of trans individuals whose lives would be made easier. (And in a small way myself, I identify far more as "fellow" than "male".)
