Marjolein RotsteegA short reflection on my first month on Mastodon. I sometimes feel I've landed in a different universe, one where people respect each other and each other's work.This should be normal, in my mind, but, unfortunately, it has become special and rare. So I cherish the Mastodon community.

I have encountered one account which really should not have gotten any further than the first toot, but people were blocking rather than realising that they could report to the instance. Within an hour of that they were gone. Not a 12hr break but actually gone for good because the instance admins want to keep it a good place. Other than that I have discovered lots of wonderful and different things and had great conversations.

On here everybody has a voice , and the nasty people don't thrive.. on Twitter only the nasty people have a voice and the nice people are restricted
