This puts a normalizing, political gloss on something far simpler: Fascists & authoritarians must have objects of hate. The GOP can't (too outwardly) hate Jews or Blacks anymore so they picked trans people. Call it what it is.

don't forget sexism: Phrases like "abortion issues" completely masks the reality that the intent is to take away bodily autonomy rights for women.
