Been looking at the feedback on mask policies from two separate conferences. People seem to fall into three groups:

1) I'll go with the policy, whatever it is

2) The risk of attending an event without masks is too high, so I will not attend without a strong mask policy

3) You cannot force me to wear a mask, so I will not attend if you require them.

You can always get group 1 at your con. Choose between groups 2 and 3.

My random sampling says that group 2 is nicer than group 3. Group 2 is both easier to hang around with, and safer.

Easy choice.

@mwl Went to a con with a group-2 friendly policy of masking indoors unless exempt or needing to be lipread/etc last year alongside proof of vaccinations x2 at least (freely available to all adults in our country at the time) and negative LFT. Only 1 report of Covid afterwards. It was hot enough to be mostly outside.

This year's variant is "mask if you wanna" but no encouragement beyond that. I won't be going.

I'm deaf and masks are hell but I also Do Not Want Sodding Covid.

@NatalyaD

You have a very legit reason for not liking masks, but: yeah.

I finally got covid last month. Found out by waking up at 3am with a 105F fever.

After that, I am planning on wearing masks around other people forever.
