Being the disillusioned GenX techie that I am, ham radio feels like digging deep to study The Olde Magick. The whole endeavor is for its own sake. There’s no money to be made here. It’s all for the love of The Problem. Whatever The Problem might be today.

Deep thoughts, people.

Remember when BBS and the Internet were like that?
@KC8JC I feel like the Fediverse is closer to that... that's what I love about ham radio!
@KC8JC Ok, sounds good. I am here for it.
@KC8JC ham is the fallback when all the fancy pocket computers stop working. Got a car battery and some wire? We got hams.
@KC8JC I lean toward "tinkerer". Once I get something working, I will use it for a while, but then will be thinking of the next thing. I will gladly cut the coax and plug off of a working antenna project to use on something new and unproven. I have grown to embrace that side of things.
@KC8JC It's true. And we are not running out of problems ;-D
