I haven't talked about this here yet!
I'm writing quick, simple tools for people with spicier neural persuasions (ADHD, autism, etc.). The first tool has already been a big hit, it's a magic todo list that will automatically list all the steps involved in a task you add!

@chton I'm assuming this is ChatGPT or one of its relatives doing the magic in the backend?
@lambdatotoro It is, i'm currently using the publicly available API because i was trying to see how to accomplish this. Now that i saw it's very capable, and that people are really interested (thousands of users in 2 days!), one of the next steps will be to move it to an open source alternative.
@chton This is excellent, great for explicitly listing the trivial or obvious sub tasks that can be easily skipped over/forgotten.
@chton I think this is the first unambiguously constructive use I've seen for large language models
@chton image descriptions: screenshots from the Magic ToDo interface showing how a task can be broken down into more manageable pieces
@chton I stumbled on this marvellous little set of tools via a comment on an ADHD-related SM post, and I am delighted! Thank you!
@chton my wife just showed me this. I love it because I've been thinking about tools for the neuro-spicy myself and I really like what you've built

@chton media description service: First screenshot shows the initial "Magic ToDo" view with the prompt "write a movie script" in the entry field

The second screenshot shows a generate list of steps that one needs to do to write a movie. Things like "Decide on a genre and plot", "Create an outline", "Edit and revise", and so on.

@chton Just found this via tiktok. It's so so helpful, thank you!
@chton This is truly impressive
✨🌟neurospicy🔥☀️ - this tool was shared in my autism group for peeps of colour, so @chton is doing a great job helping minorities of minorities. Thank you for this!
@chton Thank you so much for this! I got the app and I love it so much! This has really helped me get over the hurdle of just starting a list of things to do
@chton Bought the App last night to support your work. It's a well designed bit of website!
There's a bug with the " handling though, it shows it but they vanish, along with everything after them, once submitted.
The to-do sync seems to work, too.
@Dss They vanish? That's an odd one! I'll check it out!
@chton out of curiosity, are you planning to open source it?
@chton Any chance we could get taskpaper export? https://www.taskpaper.com/ TaskPaper can also be used to import a task list to @OmniFocus for example. Here's a link to an faq on the file format: https://support.hogbaysoftware.com/t/taskpaper-frequently-asked-questions/949#taskpaper-file-format-1
TaskPaper – Plain text to-do lists for Mac

@chton thank you! I’ll try them out having hearing about them on The ADHD Skills Lab podcast.
@chton I'm using this tool, and would love to make a few requests for features: export! (I would love some way to export this data so I can use it in my day-to-day ToDo app.) I love the magic want to make subtasks!
@chton Oh. There is an export tool, just not on the mobile version. If you are open to making this open source, I would like to work on some things.
@JustinSeal The export should work on the mobile version too! You might need to go to a different tool and then back to make it appear.
@chton Sure enough! Now I'mma figure out how to get it into Habitica.
