I want to sell merch. Specifically t-shirts with rainbows on them made of kevlar.

@elliaivyworld Sounds good but I would adjust your phrasing a little. “Kevlar”™ is a brand of #Dupont, & Dupont is a quite evil corp & #ALEC member who stands behind politicians who stand in the way of what that rainbow stands for. Those who would wear a rainbow should be boycotting Dupont.

I would use the term #aramid because (IIUC) that’s the generic brand-independant name for it.

I would be curious what the price would work out to. I’ve bought motorcycle armor made with this stuff & it’s quite expensive. If you use scissors to cut it, I think it would destroy the scissors (if it even cuts once). The material must be laser cut which is what I think drives the price up. So once you have that investment into the garment, I would think it’d make more sense to make it long-sleeved, so the cost could be justified to athletes using it for protection.

I’m not sure how much the aramid itself costs as a raw material, but I’ve seen it cheap in the form of used flight suits in army surplus shops. So perhaps those can be modified/repurposed w/the perk of sustainability.
