Linux has a problem. Connecting to a cifs/samba file share. I spent way to much time looking for the answer, and finding to many wrong ways of doing it. Did find this site which worked.

@BDraco depends on what you need.

For servers, you can usually add SMB shares in fstab.

On desktops, I'd recommend using the regular options included in i.e. Nautilus for ease-of-use.
