Update: US government makes an arrest in the online leak of classified military documents.
“I want to commend the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their swift arrest in connection with this investigation. I pledge the full support and cooperation of the Department of Defense to the DOJ’s investigation,” says Defense Secretary Austin in a statement.
“I want to underscore that every U.S. service member, DoD civilian and contractor with access to classified information has a solemn legal and moral obligation to safeguard it and to report any suspicious activity or behavior,” adds Defense Secretary Austin.
Memorandum issued by Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks on “Safeguarding Responsibilities Regarding Classified Information.”
@w7voa OK to post on Twitter, but not Discord, or do I have that backwards?
@w7voa Like a sticky note on the break room fridge reminding people to not steal other people's food👍
@w7voa given what we've learned about him, he doesn't seem like the sort to even understand responsibility, or what secrecy means. He also seems mentally unfit. Why was a person like this ever given access to sensitive documents? Is DoD going to review their own policies surrounding classified information?

@w7voa #Apple had us sit to wait for an ID in a room with a TV running security's pitch to not ever chat about what you're working on in any public setting to keep us company.

There were implied threats.

Apple put the fear of Apple in us.

Put another way, the security at Apple seems to have been considerably better at impressing the troops back then than the military's in the here and now.

@w7voa
The core problem remains that the growth of the MAGA and tankies means that the US now has a large minority of the population which is predisposed to treason and sabotage because it hates the US government and most of the US population, and supports Putin.

The US is in the same situation the UK was after WW2, when it had large numbers of people predisposed to treason because they were communists and supported the Soviet Union and Stalin.

@w7voa Does this include the Commander in Chief?
@jenned @w7voa At this point, they're prolly hoping he drops dead so the issue becomes moot.
@jenned @w7voa It most certainly includes people who repeatedly refuse to hand back classified information
@SaturniusMons @w7voa Theoretically, to date. Let's see who gets indicted first!
@w7voa hate treacherous actions, but the Department of Defense made the availability of Ukrainian Report the same as "The Stars and Stripes". Heads should roll but not the National Guardmans
