What's Going On With Theater Audiences?

Phone usage, loud eating, conversations and raucous singalongs, one of which led to riot police being called, are just some of the antics that theater professionals say are common in audience members these days. Do we just not know how to behave in public post-pandemic, or should the pros accept that etiquette has evolved?

@CultureDesk I wonder if these 'jukebox' style musicals are attracting a different crowd to the theatre? A crowd that doesn't know how to behave!

@katekate Interesting point! Theaters do need to welcome new audiences and the arts should be for everyone, but the actors, crew and front-of-house team also need to be able to do their jobs.
