A signal boost from Judd Apatow, director of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and other hit comedies? We love it.
@TheWarOnCars Also, it's a very clear trend in modern cinema, *especially* when it comes to biking for transportation. There are plenty of movies that show successful people biking for exercise, but the characters portrayed as biking to get places are generally downtrodden (with a few exceptions in mostly indie movies).
@Andres4NY @TheWarOnCars I’ve long felt that the cinematographic opportunities of bicycles have been overlooked. Cars can basically only do the side by side conversation, but two characters on bicycles are dynamic and could change their relative position throughout the conversation to represent what is happening in their conversation
@dx @TheWarOnCars And car chases in movies are really stupid, especially when they're in urban centers. Yeah, sure buddy, you're driving around some 500 year old city in Europe, knocking over outdoor seating and vendor carts and stuff without miraculously murdering someone or getting your car stuck on a curb? Have you seen how easily people flip their cars or go up on a jersey barrier and are just stuck there?
