Hello, @nytimes @washingtonpost: When there's a mass shooting, you don't have to quote Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Paul Rand saying that they're praying for the victims. Those quotes add nothing at all to the news

You can simply note that Republican lawmakers offered no new comments or actions in response to [whatever number] mass shooting in the US this year

@sarahm @nytimes @washingtonpost if the prayers *work*, then surely god will let us know directly, no need for the press to get involved. possibly by stopping all the mass shootings

@sarahm @nytimes @washingtonpost Also, pretending you're praying is an insult to actually religious people for whom prayer is a thing (whether it works of not being beside the point). "Republican X offered no evidence in support of his claim [that he was praying]"
